FAG Top-Laser INLINE2 - for fast and precise alignment

 

Herzogenrath, June 2, 2009. FAG Industrial Services has extended its range of precision alignment instruments by the FAG Top-Laser INLINE2. The new laser-based shaft alignment system is an improvement of the successful previous system FAG Top Laser INLINE. It allows the precise alignment of coupled shafts on rotating machines like for example motors, gearboxes or compressors. The device convinces with its improved handling and functionality. The new USB interface and the optional available wireless connection contribute to this.

 

Poor shaft alignment is often the reason for machine breakdowns. The new FAG Top-Laser INLINE2 helps to identify and correct misalignment in a fast and easy way. This is also realised by the two new interfaces:

The new optional available wireless connection meets the demand for more mobility. Thus the system can operate without cables. The recorded data are transmitted via wireless connection to a laptop located somewhere else. This is a great advantage, especially in hard to access and rough or dirty environments. The wireless connection is available to a favourable price in this product class.

The new standard USB interface allows a simple and effective connection between the  FAG Top-Laser INLINE2 and each laptop.

Existing FAG Top-Laser INLINE systems can be equipped with both new interfaces per upgrade. 

Besides the new connection options FAG Top-Laser INLINE2 offers further highlights:

  • The graphical user interface simplifies the handling of the alignment system so that it can be used without a manual, which is a distinctive feature in this equipment class.
  • The continuous measuring mode allows alignment by simple shaft rotation. It doesn’t matter on which shaft position the measurement begins or ends. By the movement a calculation method is started that delivers the precise result.
  • Customised reports of the measurement data can be generated by means of the efficient report generator.
  • Print-outs can be made from every standard printer.

FAG Top-Laser INLINE2 convinces by its simple handling. The laser transceiver and the reflector can easily be fitted.  Subsequently the machine and coupling dimensions are fed into the software. The measurement of the horizontal and vertical deviations is made by rotating the shaft to at least 70 degrees. The results can be displayed in millimeter or Inch.  Altitude differences can be eliminated using shims (vertical alignment).  Lateral adjustment (horizontal alignment) is done in real time on the display.

Like the entire F'IS product portfolio, the new shaft alignment system FAG Top-Laser INLINE2 helps to reduce the risk of unexpected downtimes. It extends the service life of drive systems, increases the operation reliability and contributes to a positive overall economic development.
