Early damage detection through Condition Monitoring

According to the latest technology, an optimum capacity utilization and therefore maximum availability of plants can only be achieved with Condition Monitoring and frequency-selective Vibration Analysis. The DTECTX1 series is an effective and favorably priced range of online monitoring devices, that enables permanent frequency-selective monitoring. The great advantage of the DTECTX1: it includes features which are usually only available in far more expensive online systems.

FAG DTECTX1 – a variable system

The DTECTX1 system offers endless possibilities. The basic model is available as 2-channel, 4-channel or 8-channel version with external multiplexer. All commonly used acceleration, speed and displacement sensors can be connected to it. Depending on the version used, process quantities such as speed, temperature, torque and pressure can be recorded. The signal measured by the sensor is broken up into its frequency components by Fast Fourier Transformation (FFT). This permits monitoring of amplitudes for previously specified threshold values within very narrow, defined frequency bands and triggering of an alarm if these values are exceeded. Thus, damage can be detected at an early stage by means of frequency-selective monitoring.

Remote Monitoring with FAG DTECTX1

DTECTX1's remote monitoring feature permits reliable detection of damage and faults in machines without requiring the presence of a diagnosis expert. This saves time-consuming and costly travel. Changes are automatically reported via telecommunication lines, no matter in which location on earth they are used. With this version, the modem permits remote access to the FAG DTECTX1 at any time. Measured data can be called up from a distance 24 hrs and analyzed by the diagnosis center. The remote function of DTECTX1 enables the user to have data sent automatically and indepedent of the occurence of certain events to a diagnosis center which is far away.

Administrator – diagnosis-software for FAG DTECTX1

The central component of the Administrator software is a configuration module, the X1-Explorer with which the equipment is configured via the serial port. It also reads out data from the monitoring system. X1 data management allows filing of the individual settings in a database. It is possible to configure any number of X1s with the laptop and store the respective data. Unlike many vibration monitoring devices, the DTECTX1 offers the possibility to detect defects and faults and also enables the operator to avoid consequential and future damages.
