FAG Medium Frequency Heating Device

The FAG medium frequency heating device is ideal for heating large rolling bearings and other ring-shaped steel parts for mounting and dismounting quickly, easily and efficiently. It is also perfect for the batch dismounting of bearing inner rings and labyrinth rings. This reduces the amount of work as well as costs and increases productivity.
Apart from the FAG medium frequency heating device, the Schaeffler Group also offers the induction heating of bearings – also in combination with mounting support – as a service.
Medium frequency technology features:
  • Working frequency 10 – 25 kHz
  • Air cooled system
  • Generator efficiency > 90 %
  • Demagnetization
  • Time and temperature control
  • With flexible inductors or fixed inductors (depending on your requirements)

Application examples:
  • Heating of bearings for mounting and dismounting
  • Heating of large components such as bearings or bearing seats in machine carriers (e.g. in wind turbines)
  • Loosening of shrink-fit connections (e.g. couplings, gearwheels and bearing rings)
  • Batch dismounting of bearing inner rings and labyrinth rings (e.g. gearbox bearings in rail vehicles)

Advantages:
  • Environmentally compatible thanks to low energy consumption, no water cooling needed
  • Extremely versatile: flexible inductors can be used for workpieces of different sizes and complex geometries
  • Mobile and flexible: large and heavy workpieces (e.g. housings) do not have to be moved
  • Temperature and time control: easy to handle and avoids overheating of workpieces
  • Safety at work: the devices work almost noiselessly
  • Process safety: automatic demagnetization of workpieces after the heating process
