Increasing the service life of drive belts

In order to achieve a maximum life and optimal utilisation of the components of belt drives, maintenance work and inspections should always include the following 2 steps:

- Adjusting the belt tension First, measure the belt tension. If necessary, adjust the distance between the two belt pulleys.

- Aligning the belt pulleys Check the parallel and angular misalignment of the pulleys and adjust them if necessary.

These two steps can be performed precisely and quickly using the two FAG products Top Laser TRUMMY and Top Laser SMARTY. Both devices are very easy to use, deliver very precise measurement results and feature a compact design.
